NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 2012

1. Notice:

In my capacity as General Secretary of the Association of Sri Lankan Lawyers in the United Kingdom (“the Association”), I hereby give NOTICE that the 9th Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday 27TH May 2012 at Garden Court Chambers, 57-60 Licoln’s Inn Fields, London, WC2A 3LJ

2. Agenda:

(a) Welcome Address by the President of the Association (Mr Harendra de Silva Q.C.);

(b) The Annual Report of the Executive Committee presented by the General Secretary (Mr Dinu Senadheera) [To receive
  and adopt the Report];

(c) The Statement of Accounts presented by the Treasurer (Mr Selvanyagam Sathanathan) [To receive and adopt the
  Statement];

(d) The election of Office Bearers for the year 2012-2013 [A list of Nominations proposed by the Executive Committee,
  subject to the caveat below, accompanies this Notice];

(e) Any other business;

(f) vote of thanks and close of meeting.

2. Note:

Nominations, other than those made by the Executive Committee, should be delivered to the General Secretary at the above address (or via email) no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 25th April 2012. The nominations must be in writing proposed and seconded by current members of the Association. The proposer, secondee and the candidate (who must also be a current member) must all sign the nomination papers.

In the absence of any nominations received for any office as above or a voluntary resignation by an office bearer, the list of names recommended by the Executive Committee as the next office bearers will be placed before the General Meeting for adoption.

Notice of any resolution for discussion/adoption by the membership at this meeting should also be delivered to the General Secretary at the above address (or via email) no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 25th April 2012, provided such notice has been duly signed by two current members.
